A trade exhibition (trade show, trade fair, expo) is an exhibition that is organized in order companies in some industry could show and demonstrate their products and service, and study activities of their rivals, examine latest market trends as well as opportunities.
Being different from consumer fairs, trade exhibitions are rarely open to public. Most of them can be attended only by company representatives (or members of the trade, professionals) as well as members of the press. Accordingly, trade exhibitions are classified as either "Trade Only" or "Public". A few exhibitions are the hybrids of the two; for example, the Frankfurt Book Fair, which is trade-only for its first 3 days and open to general public on its final 2 days.
